Problem

Drawing markups fall apart across devices

Office desktops, site tablets, emailed PDFs, screenshots, and spreadsheet totals all drift apart. ContractorCounter keeps markup management in one browser workspace, then lets the AI agent help place repeated counts and measurements on the shared drawing.

What is ContractorCounter?

ContractorCounter (also written Contractor Counter) is browser-based construction drawing markup software. It gives contractors and reviewers one place to annotate PDFs, calibrate scale, measure accurately, place stamps, track counts, and export clean marked-up drawings without desktop-only tooling.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes. The demo at the top of the homepage is the real workspace running on a sample sheet — mark it up, calibrate it, and measure it without creating an account. When you want your work saved, create a free account — no card needed to keep measuring; the card-required trial unlocks exports and sharing.

Can I try it for free — and do I need a credit card?

Yes. Pro and Team are free to try. A card is required, Stripe shows the first charge date before you confirm, and you can cancel before then. Free access includes uploads, markup, calibrated measurement, counts, clean exports, a trial agent allowance, and the bill of quantities.

Pro, Team, or Lifetime — which plan is right for me?

Pro is for estimators who live in the drawings, and Team adds per-seat shared workspaces; both subscriptions are free to try with a card required. Lifetime is the Pro feature set for a single one-time payment. You can cancel a subscription or switch plans anytime from Settings.

Do I need to install anything — and does it work on iPad?

No installs. ContractorCounter runs entirely in the browser, so your team can open drawings, add markups, and export annotated sheets without heavy desktop software. Because it's browser-based, the same workspace works on iPad, Android tablets, Mac, and Windows — on site or in the office, with no app-store download.

Who can see my drawings?

Your drawings are private by default and stored in a secure workspace with encrypted handling. Only people you invite to a shared workspace can see your projects, so office and field teams can review the same sheets together.

Can I measure area, length, and counts from PDFs?

Yes. You can calibrate a drawing and then use measurement and count tools directly on the sheet. That makes ContractorCounter useful for preconstruction review, scope checks, field coordination, and markup preparation ahead of estimating.

How does the AI takeoff assistant work?

Ask it in plain English — "count the doors on this sheet" or "measure the kitchen floor area" — and it places real markups, counts, and measurements on the drawing. Everything it places is a normal markup you can check, edit, or delete, so you stay the judge of the numbers. The assistant is included in Pro and above.

What markup tools and file formats are supported?

The platform is built around practical construction markup tools — text, callouts, arrows, highlights, clouds, stamps, counts, and calibrated measurements — to make plan review faster, clearer, and easier to share. It supports common construction drawing formats including PDF plus standard images such as PNG and JPG, covering most plan sets shared by architects, consultants, and clients.
